The Stratton Community Association Inc. has been formed by a group of concerned residents to give the Stratton Community a voice in the decision processes that affect our neighbourhood.
Stratton residents previously had little influence on decisions regarding planning and infrastructure and policies affecting our suburb due to a lack of having a resident's group that could be part of the consultation process.
We believe that it is important for all Stratton residents to have input in decisions that are made by the City of Swan and other Corporations that affect the well being of our community.
As residents we believe it is not only a right but a responsibility for the whole community to be involved in any future planning for our neighbourhood and the forming of the Stratton Community Association Inc. was the first step in this procedure.
The Association can only work with the full support of the people of Stratton and it is important that you are involved so we can truly represent the needs of Stratton residents.
The Associations first meeting was held in November 2008 and in this short time we have been working closely with the Local Police and City of Swan dealing with a range of issues, and implementing positive changes.
Some of these issues include controlling illegal motor cycle use in the area and the Keeping Kids in School program, Hooning, Criminal activity, Graffiti and Vandalism.
Positive changes to the suburb with involvement from our Association have been made by introducing some of the following, creation of a skate park, dog agility area, upgrading of the bmx track and basketball court and more frequent maintenance and upgrades of John Stone Park , Local Community projects like a BMX safety training track at Middle Swan Primary School and a Planting Day at John Stone Park. We also take part in the annual Cleanup Stratton Day.
This is your association and we invite you to have your say and be part of this lobby group.
Register your interest and become a member of the Stratton Community Association Inc. at the next general meeting to be held at the Community Centre Jecks Place (Check our Minutes & Agendas for future dates) or by downloading a form from the tab above and emailing [email protected]
Yours sincerely,
Troy Condo - President
